Additional entries will be forthcoming. In the meantime please enjoy a small sample of inspirational works:
“ATTITUDE” – Theologian & Pastor, Charles Swindoll
The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company, a church, a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.
I am convinced that life is 10% WHAT HAPPENS to me,
and 90% HOW I REACT to it.
And so it is with you. We are in charge of our attitudes.
“DESIDERATA”* – Max Ehrmann (some favorite lines from Desiderata)
GO placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly…
And listen to others, even the dull and ignorant–they too, have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons…
If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love…
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
But do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
“MUSIC” – Berthold Auerbach
Music washes away from the soul, the dust of everyday life.”
